Hollowtech II upgrade bearing kit Written on 11th January 2012 at 12.00pm by Pete

This time of year we get stacks of bikes in with worn out wobbly bottom brackets/crank bearings. With this up-grade kit we swop out the old bearings and fit the new stronger new style bearing. The new bearings are nearly 30% stronger than the standard bearings. We get rid of that awful nylon shim and fit the bearing straight onto the Hollowtech II axle. It also comes with a better seal, if you want to use it as the bearings are fitted with rubber shields. It does help to keep the muck out. Drop your bike or bottom bracket in the shop to up-grade now. Also will fit Specialized frames which use this size of bearing pressed in the frame.
SARACEN BIKES DEALER 2012 Written on 7th January 2012 at 7.19pm by Pete

P Yates Cycles are pleased to anounce that we have taken on Saracen Bikes as our main brand for 2012. After many countless hours researching, my visit to Madison's Ice Bike show put the icing on the cake finally. From the moment I saw there new range of bikes I knew that this is the brand for the 2012 and the future. I remember the racescene when I first started out seeing stacks of Sarcens around as they were great bikes from a British brand, realy nice hand crafted thin tubed steel race bikes which seemed to have so much character about them. After there spiralling downfall involving the dreaded Halfords, Madison took Saracen over in October 2008 and have and continue to completey turn the brand back around to what it once was and more. Alot of there new models flying there original names but re-designed with updated geometry and designed for the Uk market. Offering a complete range of bikes from great starter mountain bikes, all the way up to World Championship winning downhill bikes and award winning trail bikes. There range of bikes are gob smackingly good value for money, there are plenty of differnet spec models to suit everbodys riding needs and by buying one you are supporting a british brand establish there self back on top of the game amongst there big coporate rivals which most customers are just buying off there name. You really need to ride one first to see what all the hype has been about surrounding the brand and where these best of test awards have come from. GHOST BIKES NO MORE! Written on 14th November 2011 at 4.15pm by Pete

Due to the appauling way my shop has been dealt with P Yates Cycles will no longer be selling Ghost Bikes. There ways of trading in my experience has ben disgustingly bad, dis-honest and not loyal at all. Not going deep into the matter just that Ghost Bikes UK distributor has lets say made a mess all over me in softer words so to say. After letting some of my excisting customers know that I am no longer part of some thing I had put over 2 years worth of effort, time and money into they could not believe what they were hearing. After 11 months some of there 2011 bikes still have never shown up, maybe this is why they are call Ghost?? Any way sorry to inform you of the news but not to worry if you are a axcisting Ghost customer as there warrantys should not be affected.
End Of The “WASHOUT” Race Season Written on 14th November 2011 at 2.58pm by Pete

Its finally come to that point of the year where all of the downhill has finished. This year for the team wasnt the best of years getting off to a bad start right from the go round 1 of the BDS series with our team canopy getting completely destroyed due to the weather and Adam Grimes ended up breaking his collarbone in qualifying. Second race of the year Foz Willis went down awkward on his wrist breaking somethink complicated in there which harpered his performance pretty much most of the season. 2nd round of the BDS series it was my self that went down big time breaking my neck brace and snapping my collarbone along with Russel Grove breaking a bone in his foot/ankle. 3rd round of the BDS series was called of due to weather issue's and then the 5th round at Fort William was called of due to yet again weather and eneded up losing all the money on the hotel. Further to that Russel Grove whilst in practise at Bala broke his scafoid hitting a tree at full speed and next round of the Pearce series Bucknell saw plenty of action and crashes, luckily none of us getting badly injured. Last race of the season was round 2 of the Caersws Cup, second race runs were called off due to a very very bad inccident involving Gunny from Race Racing which all of the team would like to wish him all the best to a recovery. Russel Grove finished 2nd place in the Midland Championships so finally some good news to appear after lets say not the very best of seasons but hey thats how it go's sometimes, just try and learn from the badtimes and keep pushing forward. Roll on next season peace out x
