FOZ 2ND OVERALL CAERSWS CUP Written on 5th September 2009 at 8.34pm by Pete

First season in the Mega Serious Masters Catergory, the ex moto-x pimp daddy and kick boxxing sensai wasnt having the most succesfull full of luck season to start off with let alone with the absense of me his team manager, personal mechanic, riding and racing partner due to a life threatening illness. Having no bike untill the day before the first race this year and with absolutely no time to train through the dark times I dont know how he has pullled it off this year. Foz has been on a massive learning curve all season and has had alot of the field in shock and disbelief when finding out this is only his 2nd ever year on a push bike, finishing only a second or a 2 down against theses ex top experienced racers and usually with some knarly crashes in his race runs aswell. In practise Foz somehow manages to light the whole session up, finding some wacky barely unridable straight lines whilst his jumping abilities are far greater than pretty much any one on the track normally. Now renowed for without any sense of panick or worry flicking his tear offs or roll offs on jumps and bumps most are struggling to even get over.
Anyway enuf about him, this blog was meant to be congratulating him on his awesome 2nd Overall at the Caersws Cup Series and with only one round remaining of the Midlands Series taking part tommorow it will intresting where he finishes up riding with injury from the finals last week at Caersws. As my old man has allways said (tree's dont move much Peter and they dont have any feelings) so i guess he was right about this one. Anyway with Steve (The Butcher) Waler aka Dirt inker, saying this chap could corner with the fastet in the world on a moto-x bike, hopefully soon will be saying on a push bike now istead. With everyone whispering around the pits and side lines. Next season with a new ride, kit, back up and a new Baby on the way I know he will be one to tango with, lets just hope I can get well enuf to coach and train him through the winter for that title shot next year. Big up Fozy, PYC hearts and lovings to you and your family brother. X
Caersws Cup Round 4 Finals Written on 3rd September 2009 at 7.02pm by Pete

With the smell of barbeques and beer slowly dissapearing into the August atmosphere the Nakedracing.com crew put on the final round of the series. Useing the same track as the Nationals which cant be moaned about, plenty of good size jumps plotted along the way and a mixture of everything in your path. The most daunting beeing the double take off gap to step down landing into a tight loose left hooker only 15 yards from the start gate. Only the finest and fastest there taking the risk and getting there balls out or just pure skill? Practise saw some sick whips, huge 1 handers and hundreds of tear offs pulled by air time bandit and part time stunt man Foz, or to some getting him mixed up with Scott (boom boom) Beaumont.
First run for new boy and yet without any kit Luke (golf clubs) Griffiths putting in a flyer of a run, finding his new speed and and staying on his bike, taking Foz's advise to do the top gap jump saw him hanging out in the hot seat for a quite a while, finishing up 11th in the end in the mega competitive Youth class. Watch out for this kid next year as he'll be one to watch for in the Juniors bigging up the PYatesCycles massive boyo.
Masters rider Foz was on for a mega quick time untill hitting a tree flat out. Picking his bike up disorinated with the sweet taste of dirt, vision diseluded and covered in dust looking like something off the terminator, he somehow managed to finish his run not to far down off the pack.
The weather looked like it was about to turn for the worst and Foz knew he had to pull out all the stops in this one. Going for it big time but again going down hard, still going 9 seconds up on his first run finishing up 4th on the day with top Ex Pro Titley taking the Win from a bit worse for wear Listy.
Dave List vs Tree at World Champs Written on 2nd September 2009 at 9.44pm by Pete

The worlds tallest man Dave List has been having a stonker of a season winning pretty much everything so far whilst people are saying he's too fast to race in the masters catorgory and exactly too fast is what happened last week at the World Masters Championships in the Alps in France whilst in his qualifying run collided with a tree at full speed though a section of the course where he was not braking at all, the tree come off slightly worst as it didnt get up after the impact knocked the tree down, fortunately Dave did get up luckily not breaking anything but still in a bad way he did manage to get down the track in his race run but rolling down the track was all he could do still suffering from the crash the day before. Thanks Dave I'm glad I didnt put that money down on you winning hope you get better soon me old pal and take it easy in Disney Land Paris, Bonjour.
FOZ ON FINE FORM AGAIN Written on 2nd August 2009 at 3.01pm by Pete

High flyer Martin (FOZ) Willis was showing his one of the top competitors last weekend at Round 4 of the Pearce Cycle Midlands Series taking part on one of the famous Hopton Castle tracks. Willis still recovering from injury from the last round of the series Finished up 5th place in the highly competitive Masters catorgory with the worlds tallest man Dave List taking the top sport once agin. Foz's split times showing his running on the same level as the leaders just making a couple of small mistakes on his first run whilst improving 2 seconds faster on his 2nd run whilst dropping his bike on one of the fast blown out corners losing him that podium position he had in his sights.
3RD AT CAERSWS CUP & ENGLISH CHAMPS Written on 22nd July 2009 at 3.17pm by Pete

Plaqued with bad luck and injury so far this season or was it because of my abssence? Whatever it was anyways Foz Willis finally shook it off at Round 3 of the Caersws Cup and also finishing 3rd at the English Championships. Still recovering from the weeks before race whilst braking his fingers and bruising to his ribs he ploughed on and put in a fantastic ride podiuming in both events. This was the first race ive managed to make it to and wanted to make shaw everything was tip top for Fozy facing this big event. Getting the kit back from the sign writers the night before the event it looked awesome and couldnt wait for Fozy to be ripping it up on course. Saturday was not to bad with it slghtly drizzling all day, Willis was getting on well with the updated course untill they took the jump out before the uphill into the rooty wooded section and crashed into the backing at full speed. A couple of punctures reduced his practise time but was good because it meant more rest on broken fingers. Changing to a a tubeless cut down spike also worked out good as the heavens opened up after practise whilst trying to errect the tent and not stopping into early hours Sunday morning. Foz was on the first trailer up for practise and the course conditions were quite abit different. We decided to roll with the wets and see how the 1st run go's. Motoring down the field the green machine appeared looking very fast indeed with his non stop pedalling skills impressing me especaillly for beeing on flats 5th place behind Richardson who previously raced for Beaument in the Experts. Foz wasnt going to settle for that even though it was a stella result against a realy tough field with the like of Bishop and List who have been winning the nationals. We thrown his drys on for the 2nd run, changed kit, goggles and lil Oriley escorted his bike up the hill into the tractor for him "Good luck champ" and off he went. Over 10 secondsup on his time and with losing a few deadly seconds on the bottom rooty drop off he went into the lead...with only List and Bishop managing to go up on his time. The rain held up for the podium and then again the rain gods of Caersws finally couldnt wait any longer. Well done Foz, hopefully that broken finger will heal soon and even some more podiums to come. Shout out to The Peak Sticker Company for getting the new artwork and printing done in time SAFE AS.
