A new track for the series was added which had never been used before and everyone was in for a bit of a shock I think. Dave went to check the track out the week before the event and from what he said was that if it were to rain they wouldnt have a chance in racing there. Ive neva heard Dave worry about a track before so I knew that this was going to be 1 hell of a course. From what he says its just steep and technical as you like all the way down. EXCITING. Myself was looking forward to going to see Dave battle it out with the countries top boys and rumours even some top international riders were going to show up. I managed to blag myself out of hospital for the morning and headed down there. Absolutely beautiful weather greeted the event with the sun blaring all day and a good vibe at the finishing arena along with the beer tent and ice cream van made the day even betterer. Whilst struggling for breath climbing up the track I could see what the big man meant by steep and loose. There was some great racing all day with the Rocky Mountain/Maxxis International team making a special appearance and the main man Brendog was flying down the track like a man possesed throwng his bike into the corners like a little kid playing making it look so easy where everyone else looked like they were hanging on for there life. Brendog set the fastest time of the day and even braked before the hip stepdown to style it up and take best jump of the day prize. Good friend of mine Dave List was on top form in the Masters settling for 3rd placle after taking a slight tumble coming out of the last tight off camber corners stole him of maybe the win. Where's my stem Listy...More photos in Gallery.

After beeing let out of hospital for a couple of days I was excited as I finally had time to build up Jellys new Rocky Mountain Flatline, well only just enough time. After a mad rush waiting for all the parts to turn up I finally got it finished the night before Practise. Saturday practise went okay for Jellys and Foz and by Sunday both were getting confident with the short but demanding course. Both now riding the same bikes were both realy pleased with how they were perfrorming and were both gee'd up for the race untill Jellys had to rush home due to a accident with his house. Leaving only Foz by himself to represent the team the pressure was on. After riding well in practise and getting the course dialled Foz was confident in his 1st race run down but taking 2 big tumbles on the sub 2 minute course but put him outside the top ten so went for a safe run on his 2nd run and not beeing able to push it due to crashing previously finished up in 6th position at the end of the day. Martin (Foz) Willis is now lying in 3rd Position overall in the series. Check out more top quality photos in the gallery section courtsey from http://www.azza-art.co.uk.

The Midland Downhill Championships commenced at Hopton Castle the 16th and 17th of May. With all the best riders from around all aiming for the Midlands Titile it was going to be one hell of a meeting. Saturday saw nice dry conditions with it totally changing for the Sunday with horrible track conditions making it hard for the riders. Luke (big foot) Griffiths put in a descent time to finish up 17th in the Youth class. James (jellys) Waldron finished in a respectable 37th position in the Maters class. Top Gun Martin (foz) Willis was gunning for that important title shot all weekend but unfortunately crashing in both his runs finished up in 8th postion placing him in 5th in the Midland Championshp. Greg (billy) Hodgkins was struggling on race day with the conditions and put in only 1 race run to finish in 83rd in the competitive Senior class whilst Barracuda Bob finished up 20th in the Veterans.

At nearly 35 years of age and on the form of his life, the big man from Sheffield destroyed every one on the course to take 1st place at Round 3 of the Nissan UCI Downhill World Cup taking part today at the Vallnord Bike Park in Andorra. Steve Peat claimed his 17th UCI World Cup victory today and also his 2nd World Cup Win of the year for the Santacruz Syndicate team also South African Greg Minaar took 3rd and young British ripper also flying the sydicate flag Josh Bryceland finished up inside the top ten. WHERES PALMER? Fellow British rider Gee Atherton from the top section was trailing 0.2 seconds off Peatys monstorus pace and couldnt colose the tiny time gap claiming second place for Animal/Commencal based team. Sam Hill clocking over 54 mph was already up at the TOP OF THE COURSE time split by over 1.05 seconds but appearing at the finish with dirt patches just 5 seconds down putting him in unknown position as of yet.. Something must of happened to the Austraillian Team Specailized/Monster Energy rider as he looked unstoppable entering the woods scrubbing the huge drop into the wooded section Also on the same team other feloow young up and comer Brendan Fairclough made it into the top 10. Tracy Mosely riding for great Britan in the Womens Downhill took 3rd place riding for Trek, Emily Ragot for Suspension Centre in 2nd and France's Sabrinna Jonier giving Maxxis/Rocky Mountain thier second win of the year.
