Chainreactioncycles rider Matt Simmonds takes fastest time of the day and claims the 100 pound cash prize sponsored and presented by Pyatescycles. Simmonds rode the track like it was a sunny dry day and didnt let the horrible weather spoil his fine form. Riding his team Intense M6 with the newly anticipated Manitou Carbon Dorado forks he put in a astonishing time of 02:34.190 closely followed by Robert Smith and Ralph Jones riding for Dirt Magazine who had a flat out collison with one of the wooden posts in the finishing fields in his second run, he eventually got up but boyo it must of hurt.

Snow, wind, rain and hail all gate crashed round 1 of the Cearsw Cup this weekend just gone and boyo was it bad... Never the less the event went on. Useing the original track with a small few changes you dropped into the field flat out with 3 corners to tango with and a handmade oldskool wooden ski ramp awaited you at the finish if you wanted it. The course was a real challenge and pedally slog in some places due to the extreme weather conditions but that didint stop the field of die hard racers battling it out. The end of the day saw the the farmer and his group of tractor driving buddys come to the rescue of all the sinking vehicles in the swamp (finish field). All in all what a wonderfull weekend. What a wonderfull way to start off the year with a lovely warm race on a wicked little fast track. What more could you ask for?... a lovely looking lady handing out free ROCKSTAR energy drink next to a rockstar pimp wagon on chrome 22's...YES it was there!!!
Round 2 of the series was a another awesome meeting held by the main man himself Chris Roberts. The racing was intense and exciting and a great atmosphere with plenty of spectators gathering round the double jump towards the finish to see some hang time, bubba scrubs and sketchy momento's.
Rowen Sorrell was the fasted man of the day closely followed by up and coming new rider and good friend Mark Milward and Will Soffe taking 3rd place. Fasted women of the day Manon Carpenter took the number 1 spot followed in by Fionn Griffiths. More results, info and pics on http://www.minidh.co.uk.

Chris Roberts of http://www.nakedracing.com is holding round 2 of the mini downhill series this coming Sunday at the Forest Of Dean. With the first round becoming a huge hit for everyone round 2 should be on it. Myself, Billy and Jellys will be racing as well as new team rider Dan Price. Still recovering from injury, Price will be competing on his factory fettled ride in the fiercely competitive Youth field. Unfortunately main man Foz Willis wont be riding as he is still awaiting his new ride. Best of luck to you all and see you there.
